In August 2006, five of us drove about 4 1/2 hours north and east of Boise to a gorgeous and isolated spot along the South Fork of the Salmon River. Camped out for six nights and had the campsite to ourselves except for a couple of nights. Check out the pictures
Another road trip to Idaho this summer (August 2005), but we kept the driving to a minimum this time. We camped out for five days on the Selway River for some relaxation, fishing, tubing and lots of eating - thanks to Fred's fine cooking. There are two pages of pictures; the first 15 are mine and the rest are Jack's photos.
Fred, Marty, Jack and I made another visit to Moose Creek in August 2004. This year about all I can say positive about the weather was that we didn't have to worry about the heat! With extensive cloud cover and many rain showers, it was questionable whether we would even make it in to the airstrip. But we did. Of course, the day we left, the weather turned beautiful.
Here are the pictures of the August 2003 road trip to central Idaho. Fred, Marty, Jack & I started out from Boise and spent the first two nights at Dagger Falls, along the Middle Fork of the Salmon River, northwest of Stanley. The next three nights were at the Ice Hole campsite along Johnson Creek. I made two pages out of the pictures. Sorry, but I think I made the images a little too large for most monitors. Next time I'll downsize them a bit more.
During August 2002, flew into Moose Creek located in the Selway - Bitterroot Wilderness area of NE Idaho. A backcountry airstrip located at the confluence of the Selway River and Moose Creek, it provides a unique opportunity for hiking, fishing and camping.
